Anti Ego Device

Sculpture, mirror, electric motor, metal support, presence sensor. 2006

A kinetic sculpture (mirror) that cancel the viewer’s image when he/she gets closer to the device. The idea of this wall sculpture is to point symbolically and evocatively to the contemporary ‘cult’ of the ego. In this sense the sculpture is just completed when the observer becomes part of the work: as a participator he activates the anulation of his own image.
